Romantic date ideas to try this fall.
Romantic fall date ideas are my specialty.
Each year as the air becomes crisp and the leaves change colors, memories of one fall in particular come to mind. The fall I fell in love. On a September day, as I made my way to campus, I had no idea what—or who—waited for me. That was the day I met the man who would teach me what it meant to be loved. That was the day I met my husband.
There’s just something about fall dates that feel extra special, even years later. The fall makes us feel young again, just as we were on the day we met.
We always go on lots of dates in the fall as we reminisce the sweet beginning of our relationship.
These are the best fall date ideas, according to the experts (us).
Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Fall is the time to visit a pumpkin patch. Stroll hand in hand as you search for the perfect pumpkin to carve, then race through the corn maze together. Maybe getting lost in the maze isn’t so bad when it means you get to spend more time together.
Continue the date at home as you carve the pumpkin you picked out together. Have fun choosing what to carve and work on it until it’s perfect.
Movie Marathon
Cuddle up on the couch as the evening gets darker and enjoy your favorite movies together. Pick the movie series that reminds you and your significant other most of fall. We love to watch all the Harry Potter movies at this time of year.
Make movie night even better with food and drinks that match the theme. It’s fun to plan the food together and spend time with one another preparing it before the movie.
We make butter beer and caramel apples when we watch Harry Potter. The caramel apples are easy and we can customize them how we each like them to be with different toppings.
Visit a Coffee Shop
Sitting in a coffee shop together watching the leaves fall is perfect for slow conversation and simply being together. There’s nothing that says fall more than a hot cup of coffee on a cool morning. It feels as if the whole world slows down as you two sit taking in the day. Its as if, for a moment, nothing else matters but the person sitting in front of you.
A pumpkin spice latte is a fall favorite for a reason. It tastes like fall in a cup. This is what I get every time we get coffee in the fall.
Apple Cider and Donuts
There’s nothing quite like fresh apple cider in the fall. A trip to an orchard to pick up some cider, paired with warm apple cider donuts, makes for the perfect autumn treat. Stroll through the rows of apple trees together, savoring the sweet flavors and the crisp air as you slow down to take it all in.
Hike
Falling leaves, fresh air, and bright sun. Is there a better combination for a hike?
Pull on your shoes and find a trail to go explore together. Being in nature is good for the soul. Slow down and breathe in the fresh air as you take a hike together on your fall date. Finding new places to explore and trails to go on is so much fun.
I like to use AllTrails to help me find my next hike. This is not sponsored, I just like it.
Farmer’s Market
The farmer’s market always has something fresh and exciting to offer. We love wandering through the stalls, sampling everything together. Strolling from booth to booth, wondering what you might discover next, and discussing your finds makes for a wonderful fall date. Plus, you might just stumble upon something special to take home!
Bonfire and S’mores
A bonfire under a starry sky as the temperature drops is the perfect recipe for a romantic date night right in your own backyard. Add some s’mores, and you’re all set for a cozy evening together. I love this date because we can stay home and still create lasting memories every time.
