Handprint Valentine's Day Craft for Babies

Create an adorable craft for Valentine's Day with your baby's handprints and footprints!
Total Time15 minutes
Keyword: Baby, Craft, valentine's
Cost: $

Equipment

  • Printer (I printed at my local office supply store)

Materials

  • Red tempera paint
  • Printed Valentine’s Day craft template (I printed on cardstock paper)
  • Paint brush or sponge
  • Scissors

Instructions

  • Print the free valentine’s day craft template.
  • Paint your baby’s hand or foot. Make sure to get paint all over it, covering every part so you get a great print.
  • Firmly, but gently, press your baby’s hand or foot onto the paper inside the heart.
  • Lift the hand or foot straight up and off of the paper so it doesn’t smear.
  • Allow to dry. Then, repeat steps 2-4 with the other hand or foot.
  • Once you have both handprints/footprints on the paper, let it dry.
  • Finally, cut out the 8×10 by cutting along the dotted lines.

Notes

-Use tempera paint because it is washable and safe for kids. Whenever my kids get it on their clothes, I just throw it in the wash and it comes right out. It also washes off of their skin easily too.
-Print multiple copies, you’ll probably need to do more than one before you get it just right.
-I put my baby in his high chair so he couldn’t move around as much, this helped a lot!
